In the meeting held in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia on August 20, 2017, the nine member countries of the Southeast Asian Fencing Federation elected its new set of officers for the term 2017 to 2019. Elected SEAFF President in RICHARD GOMEZ who is the current president of the Philippine Fencing Association. The Vice President is HOANG QUAC VINH who is the Chairman of the Elite Sports of the Vietnam General Sports Administration. The Philippines and Vietnam are expected to host the SEA Games in 2019 and 2021, respectively.
Organized as the first regional fencing federation in Asia, the SEAFF now celebrates its 30th year after its launching in 1987 in Jakarta with FCA president Celso Dayrit as a founding member. SEAFF member countries are Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore, the Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam.
