    2019 ASIAN UNDER 23 COMPETITION WELL PARTICIPATED

    The 8th edition of the Asian Under 23 Fencing Championships were held the Fashion Island Mall in Bangkok Thailand from October 23 to 28, 2019. A total of 302 fencers representing 22 countries from Asia and Oceania participated in the 12 event competition.

    Emerging as overall champion was Korea garnering a total of 7 gold medals, 4 silvers and 7 bronzes. Korea has dominated the AU23 competitions in Asia since its inaugural competition which started in 2012 in Manila.

    Second overall was Japan with 3 gold medals and six bronzes. Taking a solitary gold each were Vietnam and the Philippines. Other countries in the medal tally were: Hong Kong with 4 silvers and 4 bronzes, host Thailand with one silver medal and 3 bronzes, Kazakhstan and Chinese Taipei winning each one silver and two bronzes, while Iran salvaging one silver medal.
