The FCA General Assembly held at the Holiday Inn in Amman Jordan has discussed and decided on many important proposals all aimed at helping its member federations in their tasks of developing fencing. These proposals were presented by FCA President Celso Dayrit in a well attended assembly held for the first time in West Asia.

Among the proposals approved were to implement Coaching Courses in various federations, conducting Developmental courses on Competition Management and Referees' Enhancement by regions, and launch Athletes' Developmental programmes. Also discussed and decided on were changes in the competition guidelines for the Cadet Circuit, uniform requirements for the Veterans Championships and the guidelines for the newly launched Asian Veterans Circuits.

All these decisions were intended to strengthen all member federations in Asia. Along this direction, the FCA also designated supervisors for each of the programmes. Appointed Technical Development Director is ABBAS FARYABI of Iran to handle the development of competition managers, EYYAD MAGHAYREH (Iran) as Referees and Coaches Development Director to handle the development of referees and coaches, and MARILEE ESTAMPADOR (Philippines) as Athletes Development Director to handle all athletes developmental programs.

28 national federations from Asia attended the FCA General Assembly.
