The FIE Referees Exam held in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirate on February 25 to 27, 2015 was a great success as most of the candidates secured their FIE license as new accredited referees.
There were 25 candidates for Foil and 7 received their B licenses outright. 13 of these candidates were given provisional P licenses and were included in the Observation Test during the Cadet events of the Asian Juniors and Cadet Championships from March 1 to 3. Of the 13 who were observed, 8 successfully passed and therefore received their new B licenses. In total, 15 of the 25 candidates (or 60%) passed the exam and received B licenses.
25 candidates also took the Epee exam and 7 candidates were given outright B Licenses. 12 of these candidates were included in the Observation Test with 10 passing the test and receiving their B Licenses. In total 17 of the 25 candidates (or 68%) successfully got their B licenses for Epee.
In Sabre, there were 23 candidates and 6 got their B licenses outright. 15 candidates were included in the Observation Test of which 10 were successful. In total, 16 of the 23 candidates (or 70%) received B licenses.
